- The doors to the Nature Center will open at 9 a.m. Camp staff will not be available before then. It’s very important that you go with your child into the Nature Center lobby to sign your child in for the day. That is a great time to ask your camp’s teacher questions and let us know how your child is doing that day.
Please be prompt. If you’re going to be more than 15 minutes late, please call or text (313) 852-4056 or (248) 336-5884. Late students may miss out on activities.
Here is a general schedule of the day:

Important: Per State of Michigan licensing requirements, students will only be released to those authorized on the registration form. Please include yourself on that list. You’ll have a chance to add to that list when dropping off your student. Anyone who picks up a student must provide a photo ID, every day.
Each week of camp will end with a Celebration of Learning, where families and other members of the camp community are invited to the Nature Center to view all the campers’ hard work from the week and celebrate their accomplishments. That will take place Friday from 3:30 to 4:00 right before dismissal. We hope you can join us!
Food
The camp will provide breakfast, lunch and two snacks. All food provided is peanut-free and pork-free. Students are welcome to bring their own lunch and snacks, though we ask that foods brought in do not contain peanut and tree nuts. Please pack lunches that do not require heating.
Meals are provided through the USDA Meet Up and Eat Up program. All breakfasts include milk, fruit and a grain― for example, cereal, a banana and milk, or a breakfast bar, an apple and milk. All lunches include milk, a vegetable, fruit, a grain or bread, and protein. Sample lunches from past summers include a sloppy joe, celery sticks, an apple and milk; or a turkey sandwich, carrot sticks, a fruit cup and milk. USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
